To honor heritage while embracing a contemporary look, each page is curated with both traditional and modern typefaces. The color palette also draws inspiration from fruits often found in Asian households — including pear, lychee, papaya, and dragon fruit.
Origin Story
Origin Story
At Persim Studio, we grew up surrounded by the traditional wall almanacs: hanging above the family dining table or tucked behind the cashier at our neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Tearing off the pages was not only fun to us as kids but also somehow ceremonial — a simple act that made the day feel more intentional.
The calendars also helped us keep track of the lunar holidays that shaped our time with family: Lunar New Year dinners, eating tang yuan for Winter Solstice, and making lanterns for Mid-Autumn Festival. Even now, seeing those calendars always brings us a familiar sense of warmth and nostalgia.
We created the Daily Wall Calendar to honor and preserve this cultural element in the modern homes we live in today, and to incorporate intention-setting into our everyday rituals. For those of Asian descent, we hope this calendar helps you stay connected to your roots and heritage.
