Twelve months, twelve fruits
Twelve months, twelve fruits
In many Asian families, cutting fruit for someone is an act of love. A bowl of peeled oranges or a plate of cut apples set beside someone while they work is a subtle way to say "I care about you" and "I'm thinking of you." Each month of the calendar borrows its colors from a fruit, in honor of that quiet yet powerful act of love.

Origin story
Origin story
For generations, a daily lunisolar calendar (农历) hung in many Chinese homes around the world. It lived in the kitchen, by the rice cooker, or behind the register of the family restaurant. More than just the date, the calendar also told people which solar term had arrived and when to start preparing for the next festival / holiday.
Persim Studio was founded by a first-generation Chinese American designer who grew up in New York City's Chinatown, tearing pages off these calendars herself. The calendar helped keep track of holidays that shaped her time with family: celebrating Lunar New Year, making tang yuan (汤圆) for Winter Solstice, and eating mooncake for Mid-Autumn Festival.
We designed the Daily Tear-off Calendar to honor and preserve this cultural element in the modern homes we live in today. The calendar is a piece of home that bridges the past and the present.
Solar terms
Solar terms
The calendar marks not only daily dates but also the 24 solar terms (节气). These solar terms divide the year by the sun’s position, each marking a turn in season, weather, or harvest.
In the past, solar terms like 立春 (Start
of Spring) or 冬至 (Winter Solstice) informed people when to plant crops,
harvest, and prepare for seasonal festivals.
In 2016, UNESCO recognized the
24 solar terms as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
How to use
How to use
Treat the calendar as part your daily ritual. Tear off a page in the morning and set an intention for the day ahead, whether it comes with a packed agenda or is just another slow Sunday.
Aside from recycling the paper, you can also use it to journal, sketch, or collage.
